Sunnidale park was formerly a golf course taken over by the city in the late 60's. Formerly on the ouskirts of town, it is now a large green space in the middle of mostly residential development. It features a community centre, and a large arboretum, very popular for wedding pictures. Lots of decorated limosines parked along Sunnidale Road most summer Saturday afternoons.

Shear Park is NOT named after the tornado. It was named Shear park long before the 1980s.
